There was something very sweet and innocent about this girl and the way she carried herself. I was able to get down a quick drawing of her from life, and work from photos I took later on. Though I asked her to look as natural as possible, she did pose a little!
I also went on the hunt for some old ladies around the south bank. Felt like a bit of a creep, but it was kind of fun? I didn't mind a single person that looked exactly like how I imagine the grandma to be, so I drew several.
I really like the big shapes of this woman - she's definitely the right build, but not quite old enough!
I picked out this lady because of her leopard print scarf and makeup. A fabulous one for sure.
This is the eldest woman I could find, I found her wrinkles and neck shape (it's like a cross between a dinosaur and a prune...?) really useful to draw. The garish colours she was wearing coupled with her sunglasses reminded me of the character.
This guy appeared in the background of some of my photos. In the story, the photographer character isn't really described, but I enjoyed his awkward, stiff posture and how he was smartly dressed, and I feel like his appearance fits in with the character well.
